Ferrous Scrap Mostly Higher

Metro Alloys, Ferrous ScrapDomestic trading for ferrous scrap this week brought $20/GT increases for all grades, except steel turnings which was mixed market by market. Detroit settled its turnings contracts up $20/GT from February levels, while Chicago and several southern markets picked up turnings deals at $10/GT premiums. Most markets, however, traded steel turnings down $10/GT from a month ago.

Export ferrous scrap also ticked higher during the week with an East Coast shipment headed to Turkey at $9/GT increase from a week earlier.
