U.S. ferrous scrap prices for prime and obsolete grades were largely sideways in domestic trading this week, with a few markets yielding exceptions on certain grades. Most regions settled quickly during the trading week as buyers and sellers agreed to hold December prices to prior month levels.
The exceptions included No 1 busheling in Alabama and Cincinnati off $10/GT, No 1 heavy melt in Pittsburgh off $2/GT and the Philadelphia market, which shed $5-10/GT in the wake of declining ferrous scrap exports from the port.
